We’re thrilled to unveil a new website for the Digital Health and Rights Project (DHRP).

Advocating for inclusivity

The Digital Health and Rights Project (DHRP) is a consortium of international social scientists, human rights lawyers, health advocates, and networks of people living with HIV. Founded in 2019, DHRP conducts participatory action research to promote rights-based digital governance, focusing on the experiences of diverse young adults in low- and middle-income countries.

Their work spans countries such as Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, and Vietnam, aiming to understand how young people experience empowerment, surveillance, and discrimination online, and to advocate for inclusive digital health strategies.

Getting their message across

The DHRP website is structured to provide clear and accessible information about their mission and activities. The main sections include:

  • About Us: Details the consortium’s objectives, methodologies, and the diverse team driving the project.
  • News and Blogs: Features updates, articles, and insights related to digital health and human rights.
  • Our Publications: Offers access to research reports, policy briefs, and other scholarly works produced by DHRP.
  • Digital Empowerment Hub: Serves as a gateway to online courses, manuals, and toolkits focused on digital human rights education.

The homepage highlights recent reports, upcoming events, and provides quick links to key resources, ensuring visitors can easily navigate to areas of interest. The design emphasises user engagement, with clear calls to action such as joining the mailing list and exploring the Digital Empowerment Hub.

DHRP is committed to transparency, education, and advocates for digital health and rights, and needed a new website that would reflect its goals and aspirations.

A dynamic new website

To create the new website for DHRP, we began with an in-depth discovery phase to fully understand their mission, audience needs, and technical requirements. By engaging with stakeholders and conducting workshops, we identified the essential features and user journeys they needed to bring their vision to life. Our research shaped a streamlined information architecture, ensuring resources like research reports, training materials, and publications were accessible and easy to navigate for their range of diverse audiences.

A central focus of the design was usability and scalability. We developed flexible content templates and robust navigation tools, including a searchable Resource Library and Digital Empowerment Hub. These sections were designed to empower users with tailored learning paths and facilitate interaction with training materials. Accessibility was prioritised throughout the build, adhering to best practices and ensuring an inclusive experience for users worldwide.

Making an impact

The result is a dynamic and visually engaging website that reflects DHRP’s commitment to advancing digital health and rights. From hosting interactive resources to supporting young activists and policymakers, the website enables DHRP to amplify their voice, make a bigger impact, and connect with their global audience effectively.
